Thistledown's Cedrych Tundra
Cedrych (pronounced ked-rick) is the first-born son of our full Peruvian, award-winning white male Tundra. Cedrych is a full Peruvian fawn and white pinto male, with some of the best fiber we have seen on any cria born on our farm in the last 7 years. His fiber is dense, bright, soft and thick with crimp - you can barely find his skin - and full Peruvian patterns are about as rare as hen's teeth! His dam is a solid full Peruvian maroon, and Cedrych has dark markings around his eyes, so has potential to produce solid colored offspring. The name Cedrych is welsh for "bounty" (ced) and "pattern" (drych), and he really is "all that". Look for this one in the showring next year.

Awards: Cedrych placed second in full fleece halter at his first show, the Level IV VAOBA Expo in October 2008, with the judge commenting on his extreme density and character.

Spring Blush
Cedrych's dam, Spring Blush, is the full Peruvian maroon daughter of two maroon parents, with fine, soft-handled crimpy fiber. Blush is a daughter of the maroon Champion King Crimson, who has won numerous halter and fleece awards at regional and national level, including Best Hand, Best Luster and Best Brightness awards for his magnificent fiber.

Blush's awards: In her first show, Blush placed third in a large, competitive juvenile brown halter class at the 2004 North American Alpaca Show in Kentucky. Blush's yearling fleece was awarded a third place ribbon by Kristin Buhrmann at MaPaca 2005, a second place in the HandCrafters' SpinOff at the 2005 Blue Ridge Classic Alpaca Show, with a score of 91.5/100, and a blue ribbon in the Handcrafters' SpinOff at the Level 4 OABA 2005 Fleece Show, with a score of 92/100. Blush won another blue ribbon in the 2006 Southern Select SpinOff competition, with a score of 91.5/100, and a blue ribbon in the 2006 MOPACA SpinOff with a score of 95/100.

Tundra

Cedrych's award-winning maroon half sister, Brigit, sired by grey Champion KPR Legends Challenger.

Cedrych is sired by our award-winning full Peruvian white herdsire, Tundra, who has great conformation and coverage, plus beautiful fleece. His fiber has extreme character, luster, tremendous bundling and wonderful density. Produced from the ideal match, breeding the dam of "Show Me The Money" and "Silver Dollar", to Presidio, an outstanding Caligula son - his parents have already produced some of the best colored alpacas in the nation.

Tundra's awards: He placed second in halter classes of 12 and 13 white males at the 2004 MOPACA show, the 2004 Ft. Worth show and the 2003 Great Western Alpaca Show. He was also part of Presidio's blue ribbon-winning "Get of Sire" class at the 2004 MOPACA show. In the SpinOffs he has entered, his fiber has won three blue ribbons, plus a second place at the 2005 AOBA Nationals.
