Thistledown's Kieran Knightrider
Kieran is a 3/4 Peruvian, 1/4 Accoyo male, with a solid black blanket, a white head and knee length socks, plus black shoes on all four feet. His dam, Caterina, is the MAPACA fleece Champion half Accoyo granddaughter of Accoyo Camilio and Victor's VAccoyo, and even at 5 years of age, she has fiber with handle to die for - last year her fiber still felt as good as many of our award-winning yearlings. Kieran's Champion sire, Knightrider, is the full Peruvian son of Black Ice and a black dam from the 6th Peruvian importation. Kieran has crimpy, bright true black fiber that feels like spun silk. His name is derived from both Cair, Welsh for "dark", and Ciaran, Irish for "dark", "black".

Dam, Caterina
Kieran's dam is the half Accoyo granddaughter of Accoyo Camilio and Victor's VAccoyo. Well- furnished in beautifully marked fleece, conformationally correct and nicely balanced with good bone, Cat's fiber is just gorgeous - bright, with well-defined crimp extending to the ends and consistent throughout her blanket. The 2003 fiber analysis of her brown fleece only, was 21.8 AFD, 4.1 SD, 18.8 CV and 2.2 > 30 microns. Cat has an outstanding solid maroon sire, and a dark fawn dam who both shear 8lbs of fiber annually. Her dam is the winner of many blue ribbons and two reserve championships, and a daughter of Victor VAccoyo, who is no longer available for outside breedings. Cat has an irresistible, well-shaped head and wooly topknot, a light brown skirt, matching shoes, earrings, eyeliner and freckles!

Caterina's awards: Cat is a MaPaca 2004 fleece Champion and a 3X blue ribbon winner, including a blue ribbon out of 13 entries at National level in the 2005 AOBA Fiber to Fashion Handcrafters' SpinOff, and another first place at the 2005 AOBA Nationals.
