Isabel K
Granddaughter of the famous silver grey 5Peruvian Silverado and PPPeruvian Kenamori Gold, this 3/4 Peruvian girl is a bundle of fine, crimpy butterscotch-colored fiber. The very image of her multiple award-winning medium fawn sire, MA Durango, right down to the vicuna body pattern and grey facial markings, Izzy carries herself with the same sense of pride and assurance. Her dam is the dark silver grey Tica, who has the most luxurious, fine, soft, silver fiber - in her third year, Tica's fiber analysis was 21.3 AFD, 2.6 SD, 16.9 CV and 2.1 > 30 microns. With her outstanding lineage, Izzy has significant potential to throw top quality colored offspring. Her sire, Durango, is a magnificent son of the renowned Kenamori Gold. He exhibits perfect, strong conformation, an exquisite and very masculine head, extremely dense and crimpy fiber down to his toes, and the most extraordinary presence. Durango placed first in halter at the 1999 AOBA Nationals, first in the Bred and owned Class at the 1999 Big E, and first in halter at MaPaca 2000.

Awards: Izzy placed second in a full fleece halter class of four at the Big E in September 2004 - not bad for a fawn out of a grey! Her juvenile fiber also placed third in a mixed fawn class at the 2005 Virginia Classic Handcrafters' SpinOff, and third in a class of 8 at the 2005 Mid-America Alpaca Show, with a score of 91/100. Judges comments included, "best loft in class", "6 crimps per inch" and "very dense, well-structured staple". At the Level 4 OABA fleece show in 2005, Izzy placed second in the fawn class of the Handcrafters' SpinOff competition, with over 200 SpinOff entries.

Izzy is medium fawn with grey facial markings, out of a multiple blue ribbon winning medium fawn sire and a dark silver grey daughter of 5Peruvian Silverado. She will be bred with Ben MacDhui in 2005, our Champion silver grey male, with exceptional density and lock structure to his award winning fleece, excellent conformation, an exquisite typey head, and a truly delightful temperament. He also has a strong grey/black pedigree reaching back four generations, so this should be an interesting breeding with Izzy's grey dam and Dhui's history of producing grey and black. We believe there is significant potential for top quality grey from this pairing!

Sire, Durango
