Dundee's Holly Hawk
Holly Hawk is a beautiful dark brown, 7/8 Peruvian Champion, sired by the nationally acclaimed black Champion CPeruvian Black Hawk, who was imported in utero, and introduced a rare Peruvian bloodline to the U.S. Black Hawk won two consecutive black championships at Estes Park in 2000 and 2001, and first place fleece at the AOBA Nationals and Estes Park in 2001. He is producing Champion offspring, and Holly is no exception! Holly's light fawn dam, Clementine, is also a Champion, and a daughter of CPeruvian Jaxon, another renowned black Peruvian imported male. Holly was bred with our 3X Champion dark silver grey PV Nikos in Spring 2008.

Awards: Holly placed first in a shorn class of 4 at the 2004 ABR Fall Festival in Colorado. She placed first and was awarded the Color Championship in a large brown yearling class at the 2004 Mid-America Alpaca Show in Topeka, KS. At the 2005 Virginia Classic, she placed second in a class of 12 brown yearling females, judged by Ruth Inglefield. Mike Safley awarded Holly a third place in an extremely competitive full fleece halter class of 12 medium brown yearling females at MaPaca 2005, the largest alpaca show in the country, attracting top breeders from as far away as Oregon and Washington. He also commented that she was "the densest alpaca in the class".

Sire, CPeruvian Black Hawk
Both of Holly's parents are Champions, with a strong black Peruvian heritage. Darlin' Clementine is a daughter of the renowned black herdsire, CPeruvian Jaxon, and a foundation female at Dundee Farm Alpacas. CPeruvian Black Hawk offers a rare Peruvian black bloodline and is both a Champion and a proven producer of Champion colored offspring.

Holly has wonderful, heavy-boned, straight, upright conformation, a perfect bite and dense, crimpy, soft dark brown fiber. Holly delivered her first cria in June 2006, a strong and healthy son of the bay black herdsire, Snowmass Maharajah. She has proven herself to be an excellent mother and milker, gently protective of her cria, and yet trusting us to handle them whenever necessary. We have been so impressed with her mothering abilities, as well as her calm, gentle and trusting nature.

Holly's second cria is the dark silver grey McGregor, a son of our grey Champion Ben MacDhui, now sold as a herdsire to a farm in TN. Holly's third cria is Meliora, a black female from a repeat breeding to MacDhui, who is dense and incredibly crimpy. We expect to keep Meli in our breeding program to replace her Champion dam.
