Thistledown's Hamilton
Hamilton is a handsome 3/4 Peruvian male with strong black and grey genetics. His dam is a proven half-Peruvian black beauty out of two black parents, with lovely crimpy fiber, very nice conformation and a rare bloodline. Miss Wise is one of only 11 offspring sired by Lanark’s Obsession (deceased), a phenomenal black Peruvian son of two Peruvian imports, with excellent conformation, solid bone and outstanding fiber. Hamilton's sire is the nationally recognised, multiple award-winning dark rose grey herdsire, Royal Peruvian Challenger, who exhibits show presence, beautiful conformation, and remarkable fiber qualities. Hamilton is a dusky black in color with reddish brown tips, plus a white chin, a star over one eye and white socks on his front legs. His fiber is already dense, lustrous and crimpy with unbelievable staple length, particularly for a black - we're talking 5 inches after only 9 months growth! At this point, Hamilton is on our sales list, but this may change as his dam is already sold and he carries a rare, black Peruvian bloodline.

Awards: Hamilton was not tipped as a cria and his fiber has become too long to show well this season. He will be shown when he is more mature.

Royal Peruvian Challenger is a nationally recognised herdsire with show presence, beautiful conformation, and remarkable fiber qualities. In 1999 his conformation made him the National winner of the shorn class out of 23 alpacas. His fiber took second nationally in 1999 and tied for first in the 2000 National Handcrafters’ SpinOff competition.

Challenger is a rare dark rose grey full Peruvian macho whose offspring are in great demand. Our light fawn bred female Rhiannon is a full Peruvian daughter of Royal Peruvian Challenger, who recently produced a rose grey son out of our champion silver grey male, Ben MacDhui.

Sire, Royal Peruvian Challenger

Hamilton

Hamilton is black with reddish brown tips, plus a white chin, a star over one eye and white socks on his front legs. His fiber has a wonderfully soft handle and great staple length - at only 6 months of age, he had a staple length of over 4 inches, with a bold, uniform crimp. He is a 3/4 Peruvian with a rare and exciting color background, offering the potential to produce black, rose grey, silver grey and even maroon offspring.
