Black Jack Jax's Princess Fiona

Fiona is the 3/4 Peruvian granddaughter of Peruvian Don Claro and 4Peruvian Black Magic, and daughter of Black Jack Jax, a true black award-winning Peruvian herdsire. Striking in coloration and beautifully put together, she has inherited crimp, extreme density and conformation from her dam Clara, together with a calm and gentle personality. From her sire, who won 14 awards between 1999 and 2000 in halter, shorn and fleece competition, including 7 first place positions, ribbons at both the National shows and first place fleece at the MaPaca Jubilee 2000, she has inherited black genetics, luster, crimp and excellent conformation. Fiona won a blue ribbon at MaPaca 2003, the largest alpaca show in the nation. In 2004 she produced a solid maroon daughter with black points, Myfanwy, who won Grand Champion brown female at the 2005 Virginia Classic Show, and her 2005 cria is a gorgeous pinto daughter of Peruvian Maverick. Fiona has a date with our true black Champion, Peruvian Knightrider, in the Spring of 2005.

Awards: Fiona won a blue ribbon in the composite class at MaPaca 2003, the largest alpaca show in the nation. Her first daughter, Myfanwy, was awarded the brown color Championship out of 23 females at the 2005 Virginia Classic Show and second place in full fleece halter at MaPaca 2005.

Fiona, MaPaca 2003
This girl is an absolute sweetheart - she has a fantastic temperament, striking good looks, great conformation and fabulous crimpy, dense, soft fiber. Fiona won a blue ribbon at MaPaca 2003 in the composite class, where the alpaca is judged in the ring for conformation, the fleece is judged separately, and the two scores combined for final placement. The judge was particularly complimentary about her fleece, commenting that she was "well-deserving" of her first place position. In 2004, Fiona gave birth to Myfanwy, an outstanding maroon daughter with black points. We will keep Myfanwy in our herd for the long term, offering her offspring for sale in due course.
PC Peruvian Knightrider

Sire, Black Jack Jax
Fiona's striking appearance caused such a stir at MaPaca that she was bred with Peruvian Maverick, a Champion and blue ribbon-winning pinto herdsire known for his extremely dense, crimpy, fine fleece and unbelievable presence. In Spring 2005 Fiona produced Nola, a gorgeous "tricolor" patterned female, with dense, crimpy fiber, excellent conformation and coverage. Nola will be shown in 2006.

Fiona has a Spring 2005 date with our Champion full Peruvian true black herdsire, Peruvian Knightrider. The son of two true black Peruvian imports, 5Peruvian Black Ice and 6Peruvian Anastasia, Knightrider offers rare black West Coast genetics in a magnificent package!

Peruvian Knightrider's awards: 2nd: 2002 Eastern Alpaca Jubilee; 2nd: 2002 PAOBA Breeders Showcase; 2nd: 2002 AOBA National Conference; 1st: 2002 MI Int. Dam, Clara

Daughter, Myfanwy
Clara, Fiona's dam, is a half-Peruvian and half-Bolivian pinto, and a proven producer of award-winning offspring. She has consistently produced solid offspring when bred to solid males. Her exotic coloring – rich red / brown blanket fiber splashed with white on her chest, neck and face - makes her a real herd stand-out and she is the calm and intelligent matriarch of our herd.

Fiona's sire, Black Jack Jax is a rare black Peruvian, and one of the country's most highly decorated black herdsires in shorn, halter and fleece classes. Black Jack Jax is sired by the well known and respected 4Peruvian Black Magic, who has sired many award-winners.
