Thistledown's Callum Silvermist | |
Callum
is the rare, true maroon son of two award-winning parents. He is a solid, rich, burgundy color with true black points and no visible white spots. His dam, Misty, is our
magnificent gentle giant of a girl, who won a blue ribbon and Reserve
Championship the first time she was ever shown. She has soft, dense, fine, silver grey
fiber with fabulous staple length, plus outstanding heavy-boned typey
conformation. Her presence is majestic and her coverage extreme. Romeo is
our solid maroon award-winning herdsire, who has excellent conformation
and soft, crimpy fiber with the most unique, almost purple,
coloration. Romeo also has excellent staple length and handle and is
proven to produce quality color, including a MaPaca blue ribbon-winning
black son. Callum has two black grandparents, one maroon and one silver
grey, so he has excellent potential to produce top
quality black, maroon, rose grey or silver grey, and his fiber just feels
like silk.
Awards: Too young to show until Fall 2006. |

Callum is already displaying the poise and
regal presence of his magnificent silver grey dam, Misty. His conformation
is straight and strong, with seriously heavy bone, and he is growing like a
weed. He has clearly inherited the soft handle of both of his parents - this
young man is a herdsire prospect for sure!
Misty's awards: At 2 years of age, in her first ever showring appearance, the majestic Misty placed first in her age group, and went on to become Reserve Champion of all the mixed multicolor and grey female huacayas at the 2004 VA Classic Show. Nard Mullen awarded Misty a third place for her fleece in 2002 at the highly competitive EVAA show, only 2 points behind the first place winner. |

He was awarded a second place ribbon out of all the shorn males at the 2002 MaPaca Jubilee by Carolyn Blalock, with over 1100 entries in the show. His black son, Logan, won two blue ribbons in two show appearances in 2004 - one at MaPaca, the largest show in the US! |
