Thistledown's Boadicca Nikos
This jet black daughter of our 3X Champion dark silver grey male Nikos, and a multiple award-winning true black dam, is named after Boadicca, the Celtic warrior Queen who defeated the Romans in Britain, and whose name means victory. Boadicca is exactly what we are breeding for in black - solid, non-fading and true. She is so black it is difficult to make out any features on her at all! Her fiber is dense and curly with handle like velvet. Her dam is Lakisha, daughter of the 5X Champion brown male, CPeruvian LB Remington. Lakisha has beautiful, square, heavy-boned conformation and excellent fiber density - her show-skirted, juvenile blanket had an annualized shearing weight of over 4lbs. Boadicca's sire is our half-Accoyo grey male, Nikos, whose 30 month shearing was awarded 20/20 points for fineness and hand by Diana Timmerman when he won Reserve Champion grey fleece at MAPACA 2006. A grandson of Accoyo Felix and Accoyo Yupanqui, Nikos also won the halter Championship out of 33 grey males at the 2005 Virginia Classic, a blue ribbon in halter at MAPACA 2005 under Julio Sumar, and Best Multi/Grey fiber in show at the huge OABA Spinoff. He holds fineness over time and offers excellent quality in colored fiber.

Awards: Too young to show until Fall 2008.

Dam, Lakisha
Boadicca's dam, Lakisha is the true black 3/4 Peruvian daughter of CPeruvian LB Remington, a multiple AOBA National Champion with phenomenal macho presence, conformation, coverage, density and crimp. Lakisha has wonderful conformation and coverage, with excellent density and handle to her fiber and a perfect bite.

Lakisha's awards: Lakisha placed fourth in halter classes of 11 and 12 black females at two Level III AOBA shows in 2006. Her fleece won a second place at PAOBA in 2006 and 2007, and a first and two second places in the three SpinOffs she entered. Judges comment on the excellent density and color integrity of her true black fiber.

Sire, PV Nikos

Maternal grandsire,
CPeruvian LB Remington.

Boadicca is sired by Nikos, an exceptional, half-accoyo, showy son of the renowned half-accoyo silver grey herdsire Aussie Rockford, and Peaceful Valley Priya. He has outstanding conformation, a well-shaped beautiful head, extreme coverage and a dense topknot. His fleece is very, very fine and bright, with good architecture and a gorgeous dark silver grey color.

Nikos' awards: He has three purple ribbons to his credit, including the Championship at the 2005 Virginia Classic, Best Grey/Multi in show in the huge 2005 OABA SpinOff, with a score of 93.5/100, and Reserve Champion grey fleece at MaPaca 2006, where judge Diana Timmerman awarded his 30 month fleece 20/20 for fineness and handle. Nikos also has 9 blue ribbons to his credit, including a first place in full fleece halter at MaPaca 2005, awarded by Dr. Julio Sumar.
